According to Corriere dello Sport, as reported by football-italia.net, the Rossoneri have agreed personal terms with the CSKA playmaker, with the offer standing at a four-year deal worth €2.5m per season.
The 27-year-old is set to see his contract expire in December, and therefore Milan are understood to be pushing for a drastic reduction in his €7m asking price.
Honda has previously stated his desire to join a “bigger club” this summer, and it appears as though Milan have emerged as the favourites to land his signature.
However, in order to push through a deal for the Japanese star, Massimiliano Allegri’s side must first sell Robinho.
The Brazilian is of interest to former club Santos, but they have revealed that both Milan and the player are pricing them out of a deal.
Nevertheless, vice-president Adriano Galliani is confident that a deal can be agreed upon, with a fee of around €8m touted as being enough to take the Brazilian international back to his homeland.
Honda remains a priority for the Serie A giants this summer, but Galliani has revealed on numerous occasions that they must sell before they can buy.
There is still doubt surrounding the future of Stephan El Shaarawy, who is expected to hold talks with the club on Tuesday following his return from the Confederations Cup.
