Cesc Fabregas has said he is happy at Barcelona, dashing the hopes of Manchester United and Arsenal.

It was rumoured that Fabregas had become unhappy with the lack of starting time he was receiving at Barcelona: behind Xavi, Iniesta and Busquets in the clubs pecking order for his favoured central midfield spot.
New Manchester United boss David Moyes had reportedly set his sights on the £25 million man, hoping for a switch to Old Trafford. Arsenal are also closely monitering the Spaniards situation. The intelligent 26 year old would have been a welcome addition to both sides, with United looking to strengthen their European position and Arsenal planning to mount a title challenge, pipping Tottenham to the highly sought after fourth spot by just one point.
Fabregas (who returned to his boyhood club from Arsenal two years ago) would have been the marquee signing United fans are crying out for. Fans are worried that the end of Sir Alex Ferguson's 26 year reign may deter top quality signings making the move to the red half of Manchester and the signing of Fabregas would put these rumours to bed.
Fabregas met with boss Tito Vilanova seeking assurances about his future and seemed to have got the answers he was looking for, stating in a radio interview he wants to 'stay at Barcelona for many years to come'.
United may step up their interest in the Barcelona starlet Thiago: who is similarly frustrated with his lack of playing time and United officials may attempt to trigger his £17 million buy out clause; which dropped from £77 million after he failed to appear in 60% of first team games. Thiago is set to make his decision after the U21 European Championships. United will face stiff competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid for the Spaniard's signature, should he decide to move.
