The newly promoted Ligue 1 side, bankrolled by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, have already splashed out well over £100m so far this summer on Joao Moutinho, James Rodriguez, and Falcao.
And the  their next target is Manchester United’s mercurial winger.
United may not be too reluctant to sell.
Since signing from Sporting Lisbon in 2007, Nani has scored 37 times in 215 appearances for the Premier League champions.
However, there has often been a sense that the player has failed to progress to where he should be, and the Portuguese international made just seven starts this season.
Should they sell, it would give new manager David Moyes almost £80m to start making his mark on the United squad.
Both Gareth Bale and Marouanne Fellaini have been rumoured to be on the former Everton coach’s list of targets to bolster the midfield.
Meanwhile, it would give further proof that Monaco ares serious about challenging for the French title in their first season back in the division.
