Chelsea's departing manager Rafa Benitez says the team will be stronger than ever next season because Roman Abramovich is poised to spend £100million on new players.

Speaking after Chelsea beat Benfica 2-1 in the Europa League Final in Amsterdam, Benitez hinted that the windfall will benefit incoming Jose Mourinho.

Benitez told Spanish radio Onda Cero: 'What I am sure about is that next season Chelsea will be much better because they will spend £100m and they will sign three or four players. The foundation is already there. The future is bright for them.
'I don’t know who the next coach will be, I am not the one who should say (who it will be) even though everyone speculates the same person.'

He also said he would be leaving his successor with a squad of improved players and a revitalized Fernando Torres back to his best.
