AC Milan are hoping to lure former Tottenham star Luka Modric away
from Real Madrid this summer, after the Croatian has endured a difficult
time at the Bernebeu.
According to Corriere Dello Sport,
Milan are snooping around for a number of players that could be
unwanted by Real this summer, including Angel Di Maria and Diego Lopez.
The
Spanish giants are likely to clear out a lot of their squad players
during pre-season, as they look to spend money on star players like
Gareth Bale to help win back the Spanish league title off Barcelona next
year.
Modric joined Real Madrid from Spurs last summer for
£33million, but has not managed to establish himself as a key member of
the first team in Jose Mourinho’s side, despite the 27-year-old’s
impressive years at White Hart Lane.
He has been linked with a
return to Spurs, as well as with AC Milan’s rivals Inter, as he looks to
get his career back on track. However, he may also feel he has a better
chance at the Bernebeu next season when Mourinho is replaced with a new
manager.
