David Moyes is keen on making Marouane Fellaini as his first signing since agreeing to join Manchester United. The Belgian star has a £23m buy-out clause in his contract

Moyes, who will replace Sir Alex Ferguson at the end of the season, is keen on Fellaini to solve Manchester United’s midfield conundrum. Michael Carrick has been in fine form this season in central midfield, but a player of Fellaini’s quality would galvanize United’s title credentials. Wayne Rooney slotted in next to Carrick on occasion this season, but now Rooney’s days may be numbered.
Rooney has put in a transfer request but Manchester United have announced that he’s not for sale. Fellaini would be a powerful, versatile replacement.
