West Ham are reportedly ready to offer veteran Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini a chance to end his career in the Premier League, according to Sport Mediaset
The 35-year-old is set to see his contract with the Italian giants expire at the end of this season, but as is club policy they will await the conclusion of the campaign before opening talks.
However, as reported by Football-italia.net, the Hammers are ready to offer the former Italian international a two-year contract should he fail to agree terms to extend his stay with the Rossoneri.
The club captain joined Milan back in 1995 from Cesena, and has played a significant part in both Serie A and the Champions League this season despite his advancing years.
After Massimiliano Allegri saw several key players and icons of the club depart last summer, Ambrosini has played a vital role in bringing experience to a relatively new and young squad.
Speculation suggests that he may also have offers from the MLS with the Chicago Fire showing interest, but as has been the case for the last two summers, Ambrosini will await news from Milan before making a decision on his future.
It is understood that he currently earns €1.5m a season, and while there is no suggestion that he is open to a move to the Premier League, it is also questionable as to whether West Ham would be willing to offer him a deal in the same bracket.
