Real Madrid are ready to break the bank in order to ensure they keep their star Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the Metro.

Madrid are set to make Ronaldo the world’s highest paid player in order to entice the Portuguese international to stay at the club as opposed to moving to England.
There has been widespread rumour in recent months over the possible whereabouts of Ronaldo this summer after he appeared to become disgruntled at Madrid, thus newspapers linked him with Manchester United, his former employers.
However, club president Florentino Perez has stated he will break the bank if he must in order to keep their biggest attraction.
“He told me in the summer that he was sad and I told him that we will do everything possible to make him happy because for us he’s the best player in the world,” Perez said.
“I think Cristiano is the best in the world, we want to build the Madrid of the future around him and I would like Cristiano to be the best paid player in the world.
“I don’t know if he has an offer from PSG.”
Perez’s desire to hold onto Ronaldo comes just days after Madrid lost out on target Neymar after he agreed a deal to move to Barcelona, meaning it is essential Madrid hold onto Ronaldo this summer in order to be a threat next season.
